St. Paul R.C. School

Project Overview

We are leading a comprehensive renovation of St. Paul’s RC School in San Pablo Village, Toledo District, Belize. This project is designed to significantly improve safety, durability, and the overall learning environment for a school that serves approximately 120 students and supports a broader community of around 250 people.

The revitalization focuses on the school’s primary concrete building and includes replacing a leaking roof, remediating mold and termite damage, installing new windows, repainting both interior and exterior spaces, upgrading electrical systems, improving ventilation and lighting, and providing new desks and classroom furniture.

This initiative directly supports Rotary’s focus on Basic Education and Literacy by ensuring that students in a resource-limited, rural community have access to a safe, healthy, and functional space where they can learn and thrive.

Why it Matters

For many children in the remote village of San Pablo, school is more than a classroom - it is a place of opportunity, stability, and hope. By addressing structural damage, improving air quality and lighting, and creating safe, functional learning spaces, this project will directly enhance the daily experience and long-term success of approximately 120 students.

The benefits extend well beyond the classroom. A revitalized school supports teachers, strengthens community pride, and reinforces the importance of education across the village. Over time, a safer, better-equipped learning environment can help improve educational outcomes and contribute to stronger economic opportunity and workforce readiness throughout the Toledo District.
