Corozal Belize's scholarship fund is a comprehensive action to empower by monetary scholarships to financially less fortunate Corozal families.  Scholarships are based on academic achievement and financial need. The director, Ms. Zeide Vellos (corozalhoc@nichbelize.org, 011-501-422-0071) organizes an "anything goes" food tasting event as part of Corozal Belize's September celebration (independence) to raise funds. The 2022 event awarded 63 scholarships to outstanding students.

A new addition to RRR is to aid students with autism. The unknown origin of this condition effects children, families, friends, teachers, and care givers of our community.

Support for all those involved is lacking HERE in Corozal. Belize. The gap is financial, material, educational and availability. For example, tablets for nonverbal student learning, which is highly effective (see references below), is needed and limited. The Samsung Galaxy Tablet A7 is user friendly, no add on costs and is priced $232.50 US without shipping, taxes and other costs.

The first phase's purpose of this Believe in Belize page is to raise the needed funds for these tablets.  The goal is US $6,000.

I am Pat King, a retired volunteer for this project. My inspiration erupted while visiting my daughter's sons, both autistic! Prior to the visit I mentally was in a “fog” as to what the day to day, in the trenches, love, commitment and dedication parents, care givers and teachers faced. And shamefully have been awoken! And am now committed to help our community.

Corozal has a committed, dedicated caring team which desperately needs resources!!
