After nearly a decade visiting Belize, Michael recently retired and made the permanent move to Placencia, Belize, Central America.  Prior to retirement, Michael had an amazing 26-year career as a Firefighter/ Paramedic in the Kansas City, Missouri area, serving the final 21 years with the City of Overland Park Kansas Fire Department.  
 
Michael currently lives with his wife Luanna and 2 dogs Phaita and Mr. Blue and is a huge animal enthusiast.  Michael studied at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine before transferring to Pennsylvania State University where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree.  He also has associate degrees in Paramedicine and Fire Science.  He has held many certifications including National Registry of Paramedics and National Firefighter 1 and 2.  He has always embraced a team concept and has a passion for incident mitigation and problem solving.
 
In his spare time, Michael enjoys fishing, golf, and spending time with friends.
